If you cleared UPSSSC PET 2025, a big door just opened. The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission has released the UPSSSC Inter Level Recruitment 2026 notification — 1,784 Group C posts across 12 departments, for candidates who passed Intermediate. And the fee? Twenty-five rupees. That’s not a typo.
There’s a catch, and you should hear it up front: this recruitment is only for candidates who appeared in PET 2025 and hold a valid scorecard. If you skipped PET 2025, or your score is zero or negative, this one isn’t for you — no matter how strong the rest of your profile is. Everyone else, keep reading.

Which Posts Are on Offer?
The 1,784 vacancies are spread across 12 cadres — field posts, office posts, and a couple of small specialist ones. Two posts dominate the list: Village Development Officer (Social Welfare) with 525 posts and Gram Panchayat Officer with 508. Together that’s 1,033 posts, nearly 58% of the total. If you’re a 12th-pass candidate in UP, those two alone make this notification worth your attention.

| Village Development Officer (Social Welfare) | 525 |
| Gram Panchayat Officer | 508 |
| Commercial Tax Collection Amin | 235 |
| Land Acquisition Amin | 187 |

| Storekeeper & Clerk (General Selection) | 118 |
| Assistant Cooperative & Development Supervisor | 50 |
| Tabulator (Saraniyak) | 14 |
| Housemother (Grihmata) | 5 |
| Storekeeper & Clerk (Special Selection) | 2 |
| Farm Clerk | 2 |
| Sales Clerk | 1 |
| Total | 1,784 |
Category-wise, the split is 840 UR, 425 OBC, 326 SC, 167 EWS and 26 ST posts. Pay sits at Level 2 (Rs 19,900 – Rs 63,200) and Level 3 (Rs 21,700 – Rs 69,100) under the 7th Pay Commission, depending on the post.
Are You Eligible?
Three conditions, and all three are non-negotiable:
- Education: Intermediate (Class 12) pass from the UP Board or an equivalent recognised board. Some posts add their own requirements — Social Welfare Supervisor, Village Development Officer and Gram Panchayat Officer need a CCC computer certificate from NIELIT, and Farm Clerk needs agricultural experience plus knowledge of Hindi (Devanagari). Check the post-wise table in the notification before you pick your preference.
- PET 2025: You must have appeared in UPSSSC PET 2025 and hold a valid scorecard. Candidates with zero or negative PET scores are not eligible.
- Age (as on 1 July 2026): 18 to 40 years. Relaxation applies for reserved categories as per UP government rules.
Preferential qualifications — two years of Territorial Army service or an NCC ‘B’ Certificate — help for several posts, but they don’t replace the mandatory requirements.
How Selection Works
There’s no interview at any stage. Selection runs on:
- PET 2025 score — your shortlisting base.
- Mains written examination — the deciding test.
- Document verification — your certificates against your claims.
The Mains exam carries 100 questions for 100 marks, split across three parts. The weightage is worth a look before you plan your preparation:
| Section | Questions | Marks |
|---|---|---|
| General Hindi | 10 | 10 |
| Data Interpretation | 10 | 10 |
| Environmental Ecology & Disaster Management | 10 | 10 |
| Computer & Information Technology | 15 | 15 |
| General Information Related to Uttar Pradesh | 20 | 20 |
| History, Polity, Geography, Economy, Rural Society, Current Events, Science & Tech (5 each) | 35 | 35 |
| Total | 100 | 100 |
Notice where the marks sit: UP-specific general information alone is worth 20 marks, and computers another 15. Candidates who treat those two sections as an afterthought give away a third of the paper. Check the notification for the exam duration and negative marking scheme before you sit down to attempt mocks.
How to Apply
Applications open on 10 November 2026 — not before. The portal won’t accept forms until then, so anyone promising you an early link is selling you something. When the window opens:
- Go to the official UPSSSC website, upsssc.gov.in.
- Open the recruitment link for the Combined Lower Subordinate Service (Intermediate Level) Main Examination 2026.
- Register with your mobile number, email ID and PET 2025 details.
- Fill in the form — name, parents’ names and other details exactly as in your records.
- Upload your photo, signature and required documents in the prescribed format.
- Pay the Rs 25 processing fee online.
- Submit, and take a printout of the final form to verify every detail.
The last date to apply and pay the fee is 1 December 2026, and corrections plus fee reconciliation run till 8 December 2026. Don’t leave it to the final evening — UPSSSC portals slow down badly on deadline days, and a failed payment at 11 PM is nobody’s idea of a good time.
