If you’re in Class 10 or 12 in Himachal Pradesh, you’ve probably been refreshing hpbose.org more often than you’d admit. Fair enough — the board exams are only a few months away, and everyone wants the dates. So let’s say it plainly: the HP Board Date Sheet 2027 has not been released yet. But the wait shouldn’t be long, and last year’s pattern gives us a pretty solid idea of when to expect it.
Here’s why November matters. For the 2026 board exams, the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) released the Matric and Plus Two date sheets on 26 November 2025. November is when this board has historically published its timetables, and multiple education portals tracking the board expect the 2027 date sheet in November 2026 as well. That’s an expectation based on the pattern, not an official announcement — the board itself hasn’t confirmed a date. We’ll update this page the moment it does.

Why the Date Sheet Usually Lands in November
Boards don’t pick release dates at random. HPBOSE finalises its exam centres, subject combinations and seating plans through the autumn, and the timetable is typically the last big document before admit cards. Last year’s 26 November release fits that rhythm, and the 2027 schedule is expected to follow it — theory exams in March 2027, with practicals usually slotted in beforehand. Until the board publishes the PDF, though, treat every subject-wise date you see on social media as a guess. The only dates that count are the ones on hpbose.org.
How to Download the Date Sheet the Day It Drops
When the board publishes it, here’s exactly what to do:
- Go to the official website, hpbose.org.
- Look for the “Date Sheet” section on the homepage or under the examinations tab.
- Pick your class — Matric (Class 10) or Plus Two (Class 12) — and open the PDF.
- Download it, and check your subjects against the dates carefully. One misread row has ruined more than one revision plan.
A practical tip: the moment the PDF is out, coaching centres and fan pages will repost screenshots within minutes. Screenshots crop, compress and occasionally mix up rows. Download the original PDF from hpbose.org and plan from that.
HPBOSE: A Quick Profile for New Readers
If you’re new to Himachal’s board system, here’s the short version. HPBOSE, headquartered in Dharamshala, conducts the Matric (Class 10) and Plus Two (Class 12) annual examinations for lakhs of students across the state’s schools, along with teacher eligibility and other state-level tests. The board publishes its date sheets, admit cards and results on hpbose.org, and that’s the only source you should trust for dates. Every year, dozens of lookalike pages publish “expected” timetables that turn out to be last year’s dates with the year changed — if a date sheet doesn’t come from hpbose.org, treat it as a rumour.
One more pattern worth knowing: HPBOSE usually releases admit cards a few weeks before the exams, after the date sheet. So the sequence to watch is date sheet first (expected November 2026), then admit cards, then practicals, then theory papers in March 2027. If you track it in that order, you won’t be caught out by a fake “admit card out” post doing the rounds in January.
What to Do While You Wait
Waiting for a date sheet is not a reason to pause revision — honestly, it’s the opposite. The March 2027 exam window is close enough that your preparation should already be in full swing. Use this time to finish your syllabus once, then revise by subject weightage from previous years’ papers. When the date sheet lands, you’ll only need to shuffle your revision order to match the actual gaps between papers, not start from scratch.
One more practical note: HPBOSE theory papers have traditionally been held in the morning session, and the date sheet PDF lists each subject with its date, day and time. When yours arrives, read it twice — once for your subjects, once for the gaps. A two-day gap before a tough paper is a gift; a back-to-back pair means you should front-load revision for the second subject now, while you still have weeks. The students who do best aren’t the ones who studied hardest in March — they’re the ones whose February was already organised around the real timetable.
Also, keep your school in the loop. Regular students usually receive admit cards through their schools, and schools pass on board notices faster than most websites. If your school has a notice board or a class group, that’s your earliest reliable channel after the official site. And if you’re a private candidate, the board’s portal is your channel — check it directly rather than waiting for someone to forward you a link.
