Stop guessing at your revision plan. Tamil Nadu’s Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE) has released the TN HSC Time Table 2027 — the full Class 12 (Plus Two) public exam schedule — and the dates are now public, subject by subject, for Science, Commerce and Arts streams alike.
The announcement came on 14 October 2026, when Education Minister A. Rajmohan released the timetable at a press conference in Chennai. Theory papers run from 3 March to 29 March 2027 in a single shift, 10:00 AM to 1:15 PM. Practical exams come first, from 8 to 18 February 2027. And if you’re already thinking past the exams, the minister also announced the Class 12 result date: 7 May 2027.

Subject-Wise TN HSC Exam Dates 2027
One thing to watch: several dates carry more than one subject because streams sit different papers on the same day. Your paper is the one for your stream — check the official PDF, not a summary, before you lock in a date.
| Date | Day | Subjects |
|---|---|---|
| 3 March 2027 | Wednesday | Part-I: Tamil and other language papers |
| 8 March 2027 | Monday | Part-II: English |
| 12 March 2027 | Friday | Chemistry, Accountancy, Geography |
| 15 March 2027 | Monday | Computer Science, Computer Applications, Statistics, Political Science, Bio-Chemistry and allied papers |
| 19 March 2027 | Friday | Biology, Botany, History, Business Mathematics & Statistics and vocational papers |
| 23 March 2027 | Tuesday | Physics, Economics, Employability Skills |
| 29 March 2027 | Monday | Mathematics, Zoology, Commerce, Microbiology, Nutrition & Dietetics, Agricultural Science |
Notice the gaps? Physics students get four days after Biology, and Maths students get six days after Physics. That’s breathing room, but only if you use it — don’t be that student who treats a gap as a holiday and then crams the whole syllabus into the last night.
How to Download the TN HSC Time Table 2027 PDF
- Open the DGE Tamil Nadu portal at dge.tn.gov.in.
- Click the “Time Table” link in the main navigation.
- Choose the link for “TN SSLC, HSE+1, HSE+2 Public Examination 2026-2027 — Time Table”.
- The official schedule PDF opens — download it and print a copy for your study wall.
- Match every paper to your own stream before you plan anything. If a date looks different from what a friend told you, the PDF wins.
What Else Was Announced on 14 October?
The same announcement covered the Class 10 (SSLC) public exams, which run from 17 March to 12 April 2027. So if you have a younger sibling in Class 10, their wait is nearly over too — but this post is about the Plus Two schedule, and the Class 10 dates deserve their own careful check on the same portal.
Students tracking other boards can compare with our UP Board Time Table 2027 post (Class 10 and 12 exams 5–24 February 2027) and the Maharashtra Board Exam Dates 2027 post — different boards, very different windows, which is exactly why copying a friend’s timetable from another state is a bad idea. Tamil Nadu’s March window is notably later than both, which also means Tamil Nadu students get a longer runway — use it, because the papers themselves won’t get any easier for the wait.
Using the Gaps Between Papers
Look at the calendar again and you’ll see this isn’t a relentless daily grind — there are real gaps, and they favour students who plan around them. Tamil opens on 3 March, then English five days later on 8 March. Chemistry, Accountancy and Geography cluster on 12 March, followed by the Computer Science and Statistics group on 15 March. Biology and Botany sit on 19 March, Physics on 23 March, and the final group — Maths, Zoology, Commerce and the rest — closes the exams on 29 March.
The smart way to use that shape is to work backwards. In the last two weeks before 3 March, your language papers should already be in revision mode, not first-read mode. The four days between 19 and 23 March are your Physics window — use them for numerical practice and previous-year papers, not for starting a new chapter. And the six days before 29 March are gold for Maths and Commerce students: that’s when timed mock papers pay off most, because the syllabus is already covered and what you need is speed and accuracy under exam conditions.
Exam Day Basics for Plus Two Students
- Reach your centre well before 10:00 AM. The paper runs to 1:15 PM, and late entry rules are strict — a traffic jam is not an excuse the board accepts.
- Carry your hall ticket as issued by your school, plus whatever school ID your centre asks for. Keep both in one folder the night before, not scattered across your bag.
- Read the question paper in the reading time instead of diving straight into writing. Ten careful minutes at the start save far more than they cost.
- Don’t carry electronic gadgets, including smartwatches, into the hall. The board’s malpractice rules are severe, and a phone in your pocket can end your exam regardless of whether you used it.
