Think back to April. You sat down with an OMR sheet, a black ballpoint pen, and a year’s worth of preparation riding on a couple of hours. Then came the long wait. Then a second exam — at a computer, fingers on a keyboard, racing the clock at a NIELIT centre in Jammu or Srinagar. And now, nearly six months after that first exam, the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board has put out the list that settles the second round.
Here’s the short version: JKSSB declared the Result of the Type Test (Skill Test) for the post of Junior Assistant on 12 October 2026. The result covers the 343 Junior Assistant posts advertised under Advertisement Notification No. 08 of 2025. A total of 5,555 candidates have been declared qualified in the computer-based type test, and their details appear in Annexure “A” of the result notification on the Board’s official website, jkssb.nic.in.
Short Information
The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has declared the Type Test (Skill Test) Result for the Junior Assistant recruitment advertised under Notification No. 08 of 2025, dated 27 September 2025. The OMR-based written examination was held on 19 April 2026, and the computer-based Type Test ran from 15 July to 31 August 2026 at NIELIT Jammu and Srinagar. Based on performance in the type test, 5,555 candidates have been declared qualified in Annexure “A” of the result notification. The next stage, Document Verification, has not been announced yet — candidates should wait for a separate notice on jkssb.nic.in rather than trusting rumours.
April to October: How This Recruitment Got Here
Most recruitments feel slow when you’re inside them. This one has genuinely taken its time — it helps to see the whole road in one place.
It started with the notification in late September 2025. Advertisement No. 08 of 2025 actually covered 361 posts in all — 343 of them Junior Assistant, plus a few Stenographer posts. Don’t let that bigger number confuse you. This result is about the Junior Assistant posts only.
Then came the written exam on 19 April 2026, held in OMR mode. Candidates in the Board’s consideration zone after that exam were called for the skill test — JKSSB issued a notice to that effect on 1 July 2026. The type test stretched across more than six weeks, from 15 July to 31 August 2026, at NIELIT centres in Jammu and Srinagar. That’s a long window, and it explains why the result took until mid-October.

343 Posts, 5,555 Names — What Do the Numbers Say?
There are 343 Junior Assistant vacancies, spread across various departments of the Jammu & Kashmir government — Jal Shakti, Forest, Health & Medical Education, Higher Education, Agriculture Production and others. Against those 343 posts, 5,555 candidates have now qualified the type test — roughly sixteen per vacancy still in the race. It’s simply the shape of this stage: the type test filtered the field, and Document Verification plus the final selection process will narrow it much further.
One more number worth knowing: the notification places Junior Assistant in Level-4, pay scale Rs 25,500 – 81,100. That’s the figure in the recruitment notification itself — not a rumour.
The pattern is familiar — we’ve covered the same stage-wise rhythm in other board and Sarkari result updates, including the Bihar Police CSBC Constable GD final result: check the official list, save it, and wait for the Board — not for WhatsApp forwards.
How to Check Your Name in Annexure “A”
The result is a PDF notification on the Board’s official website. No login, no roll-number portal, no SMS to wait for. You open the PDF and search it:
- Go to the official JKSSB website — jkssb.nic.in.
- On the homepage, look for the What’s New / Notifications section, and find the notification titled “Result of Type Test (Skill Test) for the post of Junior Assistant”, advertised under Advertisement Notification No. 08 of 2025. That’s the one dated 12 October 2026.
- Open the result PDF. Inside it, Annexure “A” carries the list of candidates declared qualified.
- Press Ctrl+F (or use the search option in your phone’s PDF reader) and type your roll number. Check it digit by digit.
- When you find your entry, note down the details shown against it: your roll number, name, net typing speed and accuracy. Then download and save the PDF. Don’t rely on a screenshot alone — keep the full file.
A word of caution: JKSSB does not ask candidates for money or personal details through phone calls, messages or social media. If anyone contacts you claiming they can “confirm” your selection for a fee, that’s a scam. Full stop.
“Qualified in the Type Test” — What It Does and Doesn’t Mean
What it does mean: you have passed the computer-based type test for Junior Assistant. The Board has declared, in writing, that the candidates in Annexure “A” have qualified/passed that test. You are still in the recruitment, and your journey continues to the next stage.
What it doesn’t mean: it is not a final selection list, not an appointment order, and not a guarantee of a posting. Nobody in Annexure “A” has been “selected” yet in the final sense. Document Verification is still ahead. So yes — celebrate. But keep your paperwork straight, because the next stage is where careless candidates lose seats they already earned.
If your name isn’t in Annexure “A”, it means you did not qualify this stage of this recruitment. That’s hard to read — but it doesn’t mean your preparation was wasted. Type tests are brutal, and the speed and accuracy you built carry straight into the next recruitment.
Papers to Keep Ready While the DV Notice Is Awaited
Here’s the thing: the Document Verification date has not been announced. The result notification doesn’t carry one, and no separate DV notice has appeared. Anyone quoting you a DV date is guessing. Gathering these now beats scrambling later:
- Your graduation degree and marksheets — originals plus photocopies.
- Date-of-birth proof, usually your Class 10 certificate.
- J&K Domicile Certificate.
- Category certificate (SC / ST / EWS / RBA / ALC-IB / OBC), if you applied under a reserved category — make sure it’s in the format the notification asked for and still valid.
- A valid photo ID — Aadhaar, voter ID, driving licence, or passport.
- Your written exam and type test admit cards, plus the online application printout.
- A printout of the result notification itself, with your Annexure “A” entry visible.
- Recent passport-size photographs, and any other certificate you claimed eligibility under in your application form.
One check that saves real heartbreak: compare every name, date and spelling across your documents with what you entered in the application form. If your father’s name is spelled one way on your degree and another way on your domicile, get that sorted now through the proper issuing authority — not on the morning of verification.
Same lesson as in our JKBOSE Class 12 re-evaluation result coverage and the RPSC 2nd Grade Teacher result update: the candidates who sail through verification are the ones who prepared their file before the notice arrived.

If your name is in Annexure “A”, get your documents in order and keep an eye on jkssb.nic.in. If it isn’t, this one stings — but the typing speed and exam discipline you built don’t expire with this result.
